INTERSYC II

Greece and Bulgaria, two neighboring countries with  rich pasts, have entered a period of closer cooperation since the late 1990s, thanks to the INTERREG "Greece-Bulgaria" Program. The basic idea behind INTERREG is that countries have different issues that can be better resolved if they work with their neighbors than if everyone stays within their borders. For this reason, the Greece-Bulgaria Territorial Cooperation Project promotes activities that bring the people closer. The eligible areas of the project are the areas of Evros, Kavala, Xanthi, Rodopi, Drama, Thessaloniki, Serres from Greece and the areas of Blagoevgrad, Smolyan, Kartzali, Haskovo from Bulgaria. Citizens and other organizations working on both sides of the border with the common goal of benefiting and positively influencing the maximum possible number of residents and visitors to the area, funding a wide variety of actions in the areas of competitiveness, environment, culture, transport. , health and social issues. Collaboration improves on issues of common interest by addressing the challenges of the modern age in a more effective and efficient way and the ultimate goal is a better daily life.
